Pot Roast Recipe : Pot Roast Cooking Utensils

Hi! My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today, I'm going to take a few minutes and show you how to make pot roast. Let's take a second now to go over the things we're going to need for today's recipe. The first thing, obviously, a knife. Something good, nice and sharp. We're doing a quite a bit of cutting with the carrots,

the celery, the garlic, and the onion today. Also, the beef. We're also going to need a cutting board, which is always handy to have when you're cutting. I recommend something nice and official as a cutting board. I wouldn't use one of those silly acrylic or marble cutting boards. They're just really terrible for you knife. We're also going to need a pan to cook this whole thing in. I

don't know how I almost forgot that. This is a 12 inch pan. A pan with a lid. I recommend going with something like this just because you get the ease of using like a sauté pan. At the same time, you also have something with a nice big lid. It's also very large too. The lid's important because you don't want to splatter oil everywhere. On the other hand,

when it comes time to cooking it, you want to make sure you have a lid on it to keep all the moisture and flavor inside. Next thing, a rubber spatula. I use the high temp silicone spatulas. I'm a huge fan of these. You'll use this to stir your dish. It'll be your right hand for most of the recipe. Tongs are very important as well. We'll be using

these to actually pick the meat up and flip it over in the pan. Super important. You can't use your fingers for that. We're also going to need towels. I got a couple of towels here, always handy, and a bowl. You're going to use this bowl when you make the seasoning at the beginning to season up your meat. Let's go ahead and make that flour seasoning first. Off

we go.
